Collection Highlights
View selected Korean works from the Asian art collection.
The arts of Korea are represented in the collection by ceramics, lacquer, metal artifacts, and paintings, with some objects revealing cultural interactions with China, Japan, Scythia, and Siberia. For example, the collection includes several fine and distinctive celadon glazed ceramics. These celadons were developed by Korean potters between the mid-twelfth and mid-thirteenth centuries and were influenced by Chinese models.
